  abstract = {In recent years, the conditions for the functioning of enterprises have changed revolutionarily. These changes are so significant that it is more and more often referred to as the Fourth Industrial Revolution. A company operating on the market has to take up the challenge of meeting these changes. If the foundations are changed, the whole construction must also be rebuilt. One of the essential elements of any enterprise that requires adaptation to new operating conditions is undoubtedly; communication. The purpose of the article below is to discuss the issue of communication in an enterprise operating under the conditions of Industry 4.0. The analysis of the literature regarding this issue has been significantly enriched by analyzing the business case of the implementation of a particular communication solution in the factory of a German corporation producing passenger cars in Poland. The authors in the first part of the presented article discuss the concept of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The further part of the article presents the characteristic and the role of the communication process in enterprises in the conditions of Industry 4.0. The final part of the article is devoted to business case and discussion of key conclusions.},
