  abstract = {The presented article describes the impact of the globalization process on the development of the world in the opinion of the world's leading researchers of this phenomenon. The author made a thorough analysis of various scientific trends and historical periods concerning the issue of globalization. This phenomenon had its beginning in the economic field. However, it soon spread to other spheres of human life, such as politics, social and spiritual currents. The author draws attention to the threats to modern society resulting from the spread of neoliberalism. The development of the world based on market fundamentalism and the desire to maximize profits is a serious threat to modern man. Globalization can have a significant impact on unemployment and poverty. There is no doubt that the negative impact of this phenomenon also applies to issues related to environmental protection. According to the author, the modern world is in a transition period. Humanity faces the challenge of finding a better, alternative to globalization, scenario for its further development, maximizing the chance for equal development and social justice.},
