abstract = {This study aims to conduct a systematic literature review (SLR) on the different aspects of E-Learning in education, specifically in the academic context, where E-Learning serves as a support for traditional teaching and learning methods. Important scientific contributions to this field are presented, which will serve as a guide to understand which tools and technologies are used for the creation of E-Learning modules (learning management systems, virtual campuses, virtual classrooms, etc.). In addition, the advantages of E-Learning over the traditional method of learning are presented. Data collected from 2015 to 2020 are provided to validate the observations. It is statistically demonstrated that the countries that publish more about E-Learning have the most active authors in the area. The study concludes with a comprehensive discussion on the advantages of E-Learning, as well as the tools required for its successful implementation and the factors that must be considered to ensure its maximum effectiveness.},
