abstract = {Designers of a new radio device should always consider the need to perform appropriate self-tests. In the newly developed broadband radiocommunication recorder, a broadband receiver is one of its main components. Hence, the inclusion of a calibrator in its architecture is essential. The calibrator allows reading, saving, and changing receiver settings and performing the automatic gain control (AGC) procedure. Therefore, the calibrator is equipped with a local signal generator. This paper analyzes the selection of COTS hardware platforms for the signal generator and the microcomputer used in the calibrator.},
