abstract = {On the market, many broadband radiocommunication devices are offered by various companies. However, devices that can operate at the 1÷6 GHz carrier frequencies (i.e., sub-6GHz band) and record radio signals with the 500 MHz bandwidth continuously are not available off the shelf. These and other requirements had to be considered during developing and implementing a broadband radiocommunication recorder using commercially off-the-shelf (COTS) components available on the market. One of its elements is a broadband receiver that requires the implementation of appropriate calibration mechanisms. This paper presents the concept of a local signal generator as a primary calibration element for the receiver in the broadband recorder.},
