  abstract = {The study considers the relationships and dependencies between small-scale integration, i.e. in Euroregions, and large-scale integration, i.e. in integration groupings, to build a theory of the Euroregion. The path to this theory leads through the socalled neighbourhood integration, a model of which forms the basis for a model of the Euroregion. The theoretically constructed model of the Euroregion postulates theoretical possibilities of benefits between which, in line with the theoretical goals of sustainable development, there is a high degree of mutual convergence in many scopes and fields. Consequently, the theoretical dimension of the Euroregion is closely related to sustainable development objectives.},
