  abstract = {The paper presents a method to determine the daily gas balance from a distribution network that is based on the numerical simulator Simone and the GIS model of the network. The results obtained with this method applied for a distribution network of a town in Romania are presented. The main advantage of the method is that, based on the real data taken from the SCADA system on a limited number of monitored control points, the daily balance for the entire network can be obtained.  },
