  abstract = {The purpose of this article is to assess the evolution and development of hospitality industry in the Russian Federation. The problems and prospects of the hospitality industry development under modern market conditions in modern Russia are investigated. The major challenges for hospitality industry development were identified and examined: lack of investment; lack of sophisticated marketing programs; lack of innovative technology adoption; lack of qualified personnel. The solutions to the detected challenges were proposed and discussed. The roadmap and prospects for sustainable hotel business growth in the Russian Federation are presented.
