  abstract = {The utility industry is facing extensive challenges. The use of renewable energies means that smart solutions are needed to control the energy supply so as not to jeopardise energy security. This makes the use of modern physical components as well as information technology components indispensable. This text examines in detail the specific challenges facing the industry in this transition and highlights possible solutions using SAP® technologies. The focus is on the SAP® Technology Platform, SAP® Analytics Cloud and SAP® S/4 Utilities. These SAP products are presented as strategic tools that not only do justice to the complexity of the energy transition, but also enable an agile and efficient IT landscape for utility companies. The functions of the products will be highlighted as well as the possibilities of how these solutions can be integrated into an IT landscape in order to successfully master the challenges of the future.},
