  abstract = {The recognition of fingerprints has many utilities in the modern society because the fingerprint could be used as a unique id. In this article we present the main domains where the fingerprint recognition can be used, a short evolution of the fingerprint recognition process and the main steps in pre-processing the digital images. Then, we propose a new Android implementation for an application which is integrated with SourceAFIS library. Our application (BioFinger) implements the fingerprint recognition using the camera from mobile devices and we also present the obtained results and future directions.},
