  abstract = {The small and medium enterprises are the most important category of enterprises in the whole European Union, representing more than 99% of all private entities registered in the EU, employing around 66% of all EU’s private employees and create around 57% of the added value of the European Union. In an SME, the relationship between management and employees is tighter, thus creating certain situations in which leadership manifests differently than in a large company. In this paper, we tried to create a leadership model, using certain performance indicators from 200 Romanian SME’s and the leadership style of their owner/manager. Our results led to the development of a profile for the Romanian SME leader.},
