Psychosocial Characteristics Related to Health in University Undergraduates in a Context of Cultural Background

Abstract

The purpose of the research is a comparative study of the psychosocial characteristics of health related behavior in undergraduate students with diverse cultural background who live and study in one cultural reality. A group of 97 native students and group of 108 foreign students of several Russian universities took part in an anonymous survey through social networks. Students motivated to healthy behavior prevail among the studied university undergraduates. The revealed specific psychosocial risk factors for native and foreign students may become a guideline for cultural relevant preventive programs and regular activity of university medical and psychological services.
