Abstract

The term “quality” has become an established topic and the concept of quality assurance and quality improvement is widely used at Defense University. In addition, since 2018, student success rates have become one of the criteria for university funding. The Defense Language Institute at the University of Defense is no exception when it comes to finding ways to improve the quality of the students’ education. Therefore, the French lectures there asked themselves a question whether the knowledge of English could have any effect on the teaching of French. Based on the survey and the subsequent evaluation of statistical results carried by experts, the lectures came to the conclusions presented in this article. The knowledge of English positively and significantly influences the teaching of French.
