Abstract
The article addresses the current issue of food waste. The issue of food waste is closely related to food security and food self-sufficiency and, of course, to the economic approach of households to food. The article presents the results of a case study of food waste in a selected region of the Czech Republic. A questionnaire survey and a specific survey of households were used to determine the actual amount of food waste and the amount of financial losses that are associated with this waste.
