Abstract

Idea of Industry 4.0 is presented as a next step in our development. The age of intelligent machines and full automation. This process will have an impact on economic development, but also on structure of labor market. Industry sectors are the most exposed to changes brought by Industry 4.0. The mainstream publications like Forbes tries to predict jobs that will be obsolete due to automation. (Expert Panel, Forbes Technology Council, 2019). Among them are warehouse and manufacturing jobs, production line etc. The purpose of this research is to analyze relation between employment in industry and services and technological progress in United Kingdom. Additionally, there will be presented context of wider economic growth by using GDP per capita as measure of it. All datasets are from World Bank database. Vector Aurogression was chosen as the method. Gretl software was used to perform the study.
