Work on patent landscapes – patent mapping (patent mapping) – includes statistical and intellectual analysis of patent documents in order to make a picture, reflecting the technical and legal status of technological developments in a given field of technology in a particular region or worldwide. The article provides information on the use of the patent landscape as a tool of state order planning in the Russian Federation.
