Literature Review & Research Gap: How Global Changes in Supply Chain Management and Logistics Made Impact on Trading Sector in United Arab Emirates (UAE)

Purpose: The objective of this paper is to generate a better understanding about studies related to general logistic trend and customer behavior due to supply chain and logistic trend, and detailing about its impact in a specific geographical area (UAE).  Design / Methodology: Substantial study on the relevant subject and its data base with an aim of covering as much area as possible by collecting inputs from various types of industries as well as various types of people in different age groups. Findings: This paper highlight the details about the organic and operational impacts underwent in UAE trading sector due to the changes happened in Supply Chain and Logistics arena. According to this paper, impacts underwent in UAE trading sector can be segmented into: 1) changes undergone in trading sector in UAE due to global trend and new approaches on Supply Chain Management and Logistics, 2) benefits obtained by  importers / exporters in  UAE due to global changes on SCM and Logistics , 3) analyze and identify the customer  / consumer benefits locally and internationally  in UAE due to new trend in SCM and Logistics and 4) analyze the process changes and its differences between conventional  SCM and Logistics  with  new trend. Research Limitations and Implications: The main challenge and limitation faced during the survey was related to the geographical area of coverage and the availability of sample size. Based on this point, this study could be magnified or extended by collecting a large size/ data of samples from another geographical area / country which is more easy to access.  In another words, there is a unique opportunity to conduct this study  to another country with a for a larger sample size. Originality Value: There is a vast scope on this study considering the fact that Supply Chain and Logistics industry have underwent a day night difference by the last couple of decades. This paper does a deep dive on trends and its subsequent impacts which are visible in the trading industry . Considering UAE is a main hub for trading into Middle East and Africa, implementation of trends were fast considering to other regions. Technological evaluation and its impact we very well seen in this specific area which are detailed in the paper.
