Abstract

The paper includes study results relating to the overall funding of national parks in the years 2012-1018. It presents the revenue structure of national parks, indicating the significant role of targeted subsidy to cover current operations and revenues from economic activity. The functioning of national parks is key to the maintenance of biodiversity, as their role is to ensure sustainability of biodiversity richness. The natural resources of national parks are treated as strategic for Poland, and they are managed in the interest of the general good. In the light of the law, the natural resources of national parks are public goods, although some of them have the status of club goods as granted by the administrator. The conducted study confirms that state funding is insufficient and grows too slowly, and national parks need to rely on their entrepreneurship to fund their current operations.
