Entrepreneurial Competence of Additional Professional Education Lecturer: Challenges and Practice

Abstract

At the present stage of reforming the Russian educational system, the additional professional education lecturer’s training is a fundamental property of higher education by the requirements for conducting innovative, commercial activities of educational institutions. However, the lecturers’ commercial entrepreneurial competence is developed inefficiently. 

This contradiction has caused to formulate the problem ‒ the need for knowledge of the basics of lecturers’ commercial entrepreneurial activity.

In this regard, the training of a lecturer of additional professional education with knowledge of the basics of commercial entrepreneurship is relevant.

This study analyzes and systematizes the national scientific literature, the legal framework of the Russian Federation, and the Internet resources on the formation of entrepreneurial competence of additional professional education lecturer.

The paper describes the special course “Formation of innovative personnel resource for education modernization in the context of the implementation of current trends of additional professional education lecturer’s development”. The course’s structure and learning outcomes are provided.

Relying on the results, the conclusion has been made about the need of pedagogues’ knowledge of the basics of business activities in innovative spheres, and the use of various motivational mechanisms to achieve the goals.

The results show that the course can be used in the public/municipal organizations, different departments (of education, culture, sports), profit/non-profit organizations of postgraduate pedagogical education, research institutions, by experts in the field of innovation, individual entrepreneurs, as well as in curricula, training programmes, and the development of educational and teaching complexes at the master level for training lecturers of additional professional education.
