Abstract

This paper explores the notion of environmental systems analysis. The most widespread tools that can be applied to environmental systems analysis were identified and characterized to determine their appropriateness in different situations. Moreover, the typology and specificity were presented of future scenarios being crucial elements in the tools of environmental systems analysis. In particular, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis was conducted of the literature on environmental systems analysis. This made it possible to identify the most influential channels and the most important topics in the domain under consideration, and investigate how the publications covering the extensive field of environmental systems analysis are clustered and how scientific collaboration has developed within this research area so far.
