Abstract

The article discusses the Post Keynesian approach to environmental issues and natural resources, with particular emphasis on the ecological macroeconomic model by Dafermos, Nikolaidi and Galanis (2017). The model is an example of an approach that supports advanced analysis of sustainable economic development during recessions and economic crises and a risk posed by unstable financial systems. The author purports that the discussion on the Poland’s development policy still lacks such a multifaceted perspective. Official policy objectives indicate that the policy approach converges with mainstream economics which puts emphasis on continuous economic growth, as opposed to heterodox economics which focuses on the combination of economic, social and environmental factors.
