Abstract
Sustainable development has become a prominent approach that aims to address the fundamental environmental, societal and economic challenges of humanity. A total of 17 goals have been formulated within each challenge, and efforts to implement these goals have been made by different countries around the world in the past decades. As a Member State of the European Union, Poland has also undertaken to pursue these challenges. The aim of this article was to analyze the indicators for monitoring progress towards the achievement of selected sustainable development goals in Poland. The results of the analysis revealed that progress has been made in each group of social, environmental and economic goals. The problems and limitations on the road to achieving sustainability in Poland have been identified and described.
