The article aims to respond to diagnoses concerning the urban spatial planning policies and new, valuable scientific research directions. The analysis was caried out based on the theses from the ESPON report. It was done by specifying and proposing changes and adjustments to the theses concerning spatial policy tools and challenges related to urban spatial policies.
