Abstract
The paper reveals the results of a comparative analysis of the motivation for training and development of employees in two different fields of activity: education and industry. The analysis was based on the ideas of the lifelong learning concept. The authors believe that in modern society, lifelong learning is not only a concept, but also an important feature of proactive people. The empirical part of the research involved 762 respondents (nmet. = 381; nedu. = 381). The results showed that there is a difference in the involvement of the respondents in the two analyzed areas in lifelong learning. Also, as a result, the difference in the motives of learning of teachers and industrial companies’ employees enterprises participating in the survey was revealed. At the same time, participants in both areas who do not improve their professional level point out that the main reason for it is a lack of time. In conclusion, it is noted that the results obtained in the work require in-depth studies of the motivation for continuous employees’ learning in both areas in the future, as well as a multivariate analysis of variance of the data obtained.
