Abstract
Job burnout is a specific phenomenon influencing management and health problems. It can ruin individual’s health, one’s family’s health, community in which the individual and his family live, and if the extent of this phenomenon is widespread, even a particular part of society, since society constitutes a system of interconnected subsystems functioning without any interferences only when all system components act without any problems. Job burnout is also a special phenomenon due to the fact that it impacts performance of organisations – that is why it is also a management issue.
Knowledge about destructive influence of job burnout is not classified as a secret one. On the contrary, there are people who present a good understanding of that issue. Bill Gates is concerned to be one of them. He stated “take ten of my best employees and Microsoft becomes a company of marginal significance” [Bochniarz, Gugała 2005]. And job burnout takes them; it takes the best ones.
Diagnostic survey was a key method, helping to achieve the answer for presented research problem.
Main findings is: the best become exhausted and this is why job burnout is a dangerous management problem and health problem.
