Abstract
The article presents issues related to the incentive system in the organization of state administration. With the help of the questionnaire, an attempt to assess the effectiveness of the incentive system factors, which is functioning in one of the Tax Offices of the Śląskie Voivodeship, and its compliance with the expectations of employees was made. The respondents were employees of the Direct Service Department, who dealt with the day-to-day service of taxpayers in matters of taxes, inheritance and donations, NIP numbers, and cash registers. The scope of the survey included questions about the motivation to perform professional duties, which are related to the factors used by superiors to mobilize employees in the Tax Office. The results of the study allow for the identification of factors which, according to employees, ensure an increase in motivation and commitment, learning their opinions on the use of individual motivators, and indicate how important the correct flow of information between the various levels of the organization is in this respect.
