The article presents the assumptions and preliminary results of the implementation of a support scheme for the HoRecCa industry in Poland, with implementation scheduled for 2024. This programme, which is funded by EU funds, is intended to respond to the needs of the industry, for which the negative effects of the COVID epidemic were evident not only during, but also after its conclusion. The intervention in this industry involves the expenditure of public funds to immunize and prepare for possible further external shocks, by diversifying and expanding the activities of companies whose revenues fell because of the pandemic. The data of over 3,000 companies that were selected in 2024 to receive subsidies was analyzed. The conclusions relate to the characteristics of the grants awarded, the size and direction of which depended on the characteristics of the particular region supported.
