Abstract

The article presents a problem of corporate dividend policy. The research goal was to present the corporate dividend policy in the context of economic conditions related to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

The research has shown a significant impact of the pandemic on dividend policy. Most of the analyzed companies reduced the amounts of dividends or froze dividends payouts. One of the reasons was the deterioration in the financial performance of some companies. It was reflected in the profitability, financial liquidity and financial leverage. The reduction of dividends payouts also took place in companies in good financial condition. It indicates a conservative dividend policy aimed at mitigating the negative economic effects of the pandemic.
