Abstract

The revelence of the study is that talent management has now reached the leading role in modern human resource management in the organizations. The article presents a definition of the concept of talent from the perspective of enterprises. It attempts to define talent within the business environment, addresses the issues of demand and the “war for talent,” locates talent within human resource management and identifies the essence of talent for economic organizations in the twenty-first century. The literature on the subject has been analysed, as has a report prepared by the OECD. The authors also highlighted the key factors that makes talent management essential to achieve a competitive advantage for organizations in the XXI century. It concludes with recommendations for those responsible for human resource management in modern companies.
