Abstract

According to the European Transport Safety Council, pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists make up 70% of road deaths in European cities. This is according to the European Transport Safety Council. Road safety is an essential part in sustainable urban mobility. With the constant development of new technologies in road transport, the level of safety and fluidity of road transport is increasing. On the other hand, with the increase in the number of vehicles, there is an increasing pressure on overall throughput and hence road safety. Critical nodes, junctions, low-pass routes, etc. are at risk. Continuous traffic accidents or congestion at critical times – rush hour traffic results in reduced safety levels. Properly selected methods and procedures with new technologies help to reduce this problem. In this paper we analyze the use of analytical tools in road transport to increase the safety and fluency of the population in the selected region. In city Žilina is the first one preferring public transport vehicles in Slovakia.
