Abstract

Digital twins have become a phenomenon of global interest with the incensement of Industry 4.0. The aim of this conference paper was to provide a brief overview of the selected academic research on digital twins as innovation, especially in the context of logistics circulating around the concept of Industry 4.0 (Logistics 4.0). The authors of this paper reviewed existing literature on digital twins (published in the recent period) in order to map this research stream and identify the most substantial contributors to this area of interest. This brief overview uses particular bibliometric tools and techniques to present most influential authors, journals, and publications. The analysis allowed to map and describe overtime evolution of publications on digital twins in logistics in the early phases of digital twins research.
