Abstract
Today’s information systems have become one of the most vital resources for organizations in the hotel sector, especially with the COVID-19 situation, which limits the functionality of these organizations. Harnessing information systems allows the continuous modernization of strategies, operations, and service levels, to meet the high competitiveness of the market, improve productivity, and increase customer satisfaction. Because the managers of these organizations are aware of the benefits of controlling information, which include achieving better results and attracting the attention of clients, we carried out a case study for companies in the hotel sector that are seeking to improve their reservation management system. An exhaustive systematic review of the literature from studies published between 2016 and 2020 was carried out. These studies were extracted from several reliable academic sources, and a total of 81 articles were selected. This study has led to the identification of suggestive results that demonstrate the competitive advantage of using agile methodologies for mobile applications in different companies of the hotel sector.
