Abstract

The purpose of the research is to identify the advantages and threats of digitalization of universities, analyze the conditions and prospects for digitalization of Russian universities, as well as develop tools to overcome existing problems and limitations. The authors systematized the advantages of digitalization from development of online educational services segment, e-learning resources, use of digital technologies of electronic document circulation, involve of simulators, tools of augmented and virtual reality in the educational process, as well as digital support of students. The authors revealed the threats of digitalization of higher education institutions: the decline in the quality of education, the primitivization of competencies, the transfer of implicit knowledge, the loss of competitiveness, and threats of an informational nature. The authors analyzed the availability of Russian universities with computer equipment and specialized software, studied the growth dynamics of higher education programs implemented using electronic and distance technologies, as well as systematized the problems of implementing digital educational programs. The authors proposed a system of measures to level the existing problems and limitations of digitalization of the educational space in Russian practice.
