The necessity for Ukraine’s entry to the European community and various international organizations requires the acceleration of economic reforms, the transformation of market relations, and so on. Ensuring of sustainable social and economic development of Ukraine and its regions is associated with addressing important issues in the economic, social and legal spheres. One of the central issues that needs to be addressed at the state and regional levels is the reform of national and regional labour markets. This publication aims to establish the structural and dynamic features of the regional labour market in Ukraine on the example of border north-western Volyn and north-eastern Kharkiv regions. Based on the analysis of scientific developments of European and Ukrainian geographers, economists and sociologists, the achievements in the field of functioning of national and regional labour markets are systematized. The national and regional features of functioning, dynamics and modern tendencies of the labour market of Ukraine are defined on the basis of the statistical analysis of functioning of the national labour market. The article also analyzes the dynamics of the economically active population, indicators of employment and unemployment, the dynamics of the average monthly nominal wage of full-time employees from 2015 to 2019 in Ukraine and in particular in Volyn and Kharkiv regions. In the article are considered the dynamics of the economically active population, indicators of employment and unemployment, the dynamics of the average monthly nominal wage of full-time employees from 2015 to 2019 in Ukraine and in particular in Volyn and Kharkiv regions. The main territorial disparities, time trends and preconditions for the formation of regional labour markets are identified. The structural-dynamic analysis of employment as a form of realization of labour potential of the investigated areas is conducted. Common and different tendencies of transformation of regional labour markets are established, and also the main problems and priority directions of reforming of national and regional labour markets are defined.
