The paper presents definitions and methodological approaches to assessing the economic security of countries in the world. A comparative analysis of the economic security state in Ukraine and the EU is made. The study made it possible to identify the main economic security threats of the EU and Ukraine in modern conditions. Methods and prospects for increasing the economic security level of the EU and Ukraine in terms of their association are proposed.
