Abstract
This paper presents the concept of an analytical model of a queuing system to witch typical Internet traffic is offered. The offered traffic is a mixture of stream, elastic, and adaptive flows. In addition, elastic and adaptive flows are under a finite compression mechanism. The proposed concept is based on the analysis of Markov chain occurred in the considered system. This is a typical method commonly used to analyse various communication systems and networks. The approach proposed by the authors is highly relevant, particularly concerning the design and maintenance of modern networks.
