Abstract
The concept of talent management (TM) has grown into one of the first priorities of businesses in the last decade and subject to theoretical models for many scholars. The people having the competences as defined by their roles are driving the competitive advantage of the organisations, however, practices did not yet reach the expected level to overcome an unexpected crisis as the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic created. The present study is highlighting the evolution of the TM concept and has a closer look at seven of the most debated and applied TM frameworks in the last two decades, by identifying the common and new approaches. Aiming to have a base for TM concept research, we acknowledged two potential solutions for its further development and applicability.
